Crescendo | Cowboy Bebop E25&E26 | Dudes Daily
I found myself really enjoying this two-part finale, in a way that sort of elevated the rest of the show in my mind. The style and tone of the show really benefit from the decompression beyond a single half-hour episode, and it makes me wonder what Cowboy Bebop could have been under different production constraints.
While Spike's backstory is not particularly groundbreaking, I found it worked a lot better in these episodes, told outright, compared to the attempted suspense and mystery of its prior breadcrumbs in the show. I really enjoyed his moments with Jet and Faye in this episode, and his pyrrhic victory at the end felt appropriate.
