Reduce to a Simmer | Deadwood S1E7 | Dudes Daily
I wasn't really expecting the show to go this way, but this episode shows a marked reduction in intensity across several different plots and character arcs. Bullock's rage seems blunted by his fight to the death with the Sioux (a move I'm still suspicious of), Jane seems better-adjusted, and the smallpox outbreak is now being managed as a matter of course. It feels odd to pull back this way now, but also more sustainable emotionally - looking forward to further developments.
