Where's Wallace :( | The Wire S1E12 | Dudes Daily
It's interesting to see some of the shared storytelling techniques between this show and the Sopranos. I wrote last week about the Sopranos bringing some elements from the early season back for big impact at the season end, and The Wire is working the same way with Daniels' "dirty" reputation. I'm curious how much of that will be left outstanding for the next season versus wrapped up here.
I really noticed the camera work in some of the tense political office meetings this episode. In every shot for those scenes, the camera is slowly but steadily moving. Adds a lot of tension to the conversations, and allows really striking compositions flowing with pretty typical ones.
